Who knew that a married mom could feel like a single mom?

she has a passion to share her story-the good and the bad-to
encourage other married women who feel like they're going it
alone. Whether your husband is away on business, serving in the
military, or busy with a hobby, Married Mom, Solo Parent offers
encouragement, advice, and answers to the tough questions:
  • How do I honor my husband and teach my children to do the same?
  • How do I overcome loneliness, insecurity, and anger?
  • How do I avoid emotionally checking out of my marriage?
  • How do I find some time just for me?
With practical suggestions and biblical teaching, this down to earth

strength to face the daily challenge of being a married mom, solo parent.

Our Thoughts
Carla's story and experience shows that when you let
God help you, things will get better. As a married mom,
solo parent this book helped me out so much in many
ways. Many nights I'd come home from work tired and
lonely, I had thought about throwing in the towel so
many times, but after reading Married Mom, Solo Parent
I look to God's strength to face the challenges presented
to me and my family. I think Married Mom, Solo Parent
couldn't have come at a better time in my life.  I recommend
this book to my readers, if you're thinking of filing that
divorce or looking for another way out, this book is a
definite read you shouldn't miss out on. Thanks, Carla!!

Book Review: Meet To Marry by Bari Lyman

Meet To Marry
A Dating Revelation for the Marriage Minded
by
Bari Lyman
Creator of MeetToMarry.com
Be the One to Find the One

Category: Relationships
ISBN:0757316050
Publisher: Health Communications, Inc.
Paperback, 266 pp

Book Info
If you truly want to find your ideal spouse, then Meet
to Marry is your next step closer to "I do." Instead of
superficial dating guides, Meet to Marry offers a completely
fresh approach that will help you find real and lasting love.

Author Bari Lyman should know. Her love life resembled the
movie Groundhog Day, with a revolving door of ill-suited men.
One day she asked herself, "Why do I always attract the
wrong ones?" While the answer took years of research, her
eventual epiphany transformed her approach to dating. The
result? In short order, she met and married the man of her
dreams. Using her time-tested method, Bari has helped scores
of hopeful singles find their soul mates and has created
MeetToMarry.com, the first and only website for marriage
minded individuals. Do you want a lifetime of second dates...or
a lifetime with THE ONE?

With candor and compassion, Bari busts the prevailing dating
myths that keep us blocked. Using her three-step approach-
Assess, Attract, and Act--you'll learn how to change your
mind set and remove your blind spots to find your perfect rela
tionship match. Discover for yourself what so many other
happily married couples now know. Let this proven and practical
approach help you find the love that you deserve.

About The Author

[In her own words]
I am passionate about helping singles achieve their dreams
of finding their ideal spouse. My message that to find the
one, you need to be the one is one that I lived. I can empat
hize with men and women who are searching often aimless
ly, for a true connection having been there myself. After
many years of dating and attracting the "wrong ones," I
thought I was incapable of attracting a man who could give
me what I needed and wanted. I wanted to meet someone
who would fulfill my need to be cherished, loved and admired.

There was something about me and what I was thinking and
doing that needed to be changed. That was not exactly a
place to flourish. It was like living in the movie Groundhog
Day. The question was not who I was attracting, but why I
was attracting them. I couldn't see it--I thought I was fine.
What was it about me that had me attracting guys that
looked different and seemed different, but in the end were
the same?

As someone who transformed herself, I met and married
my ideal love and soul mate, Michael, and created Meet
to Marry for people to find themselves and their ideal
spouse. I now know what it is to be married to someone
with whom I can flourish and be myself unconditionally-
and live a life that we designed together.

The principles of Meet to Marry are based on techniques
from a lifetime of personal growth, intense study of relat
ionship strategies, and wisdom from great coaches and
mentors. The program also incorporates Imago techniques
from Harville Hendrix's Getting The Love You Want,
relationship wisdom from Eli Levy, Ph.D., and Hedy Schleifer,
Principles of the Seven Habits and Transformation; and
possibility technology from the Landmark Forum, and
many others, I was able to break through, and now I can
help you do the same.

Our Thoughts
I'll tell you, trying to review this book on my own was
hard as there are singles in this household and I couldn't
keep it to myself for a day. I did finally get my chance to
read it and love her techniques for personal growth
and more. Even better is her advice on how to be the one
to find the one. This book is an all time favorite for the
singles in our household and for many years to come! I
definitely recommend this book for my single readers.

Book Review: Redirect by Timothy D. Wilson

Redirect
The surprising new science of psychological change
by
Timothy D. Wilson
Author of Stranger To Ourselves

Pub. Date: September 2011
Format: Hardcover, 288 pages
ISBN: 0316051888
Publisher: Little, Brown & Company
Overview
What if there were a magic pill that could make you happier,
turn you into a better parent, solve your teenager's behavior
problems, reduce racial prejudice, and close the achievement
gap in education? Well, there is no such pill-but there is a new,
scientifically based approach called story editing that can acc
omplish all of this. It works by redirecting the stories we tell
about ourselves and the world around us, with subtle prompts,
in ways that lead to lasting change. In Redirect, world-renowned
psychologist Timothy D. Wilson shows how story editing works
wand how you can use it every day.

The other surprising news is that many existing approaches-
from the multibillion-dollar self-help industry to programs that
discourage drug use and drinking-aren't effective at all. In fact,
some have the opposite effect. Most programs are not adequately
tested, many do not deliver on their promises, and some do harm.
For example, there are programs that have inadvertently caused
unhappiness, raised the crime rate, increased teenage pregnany,
and even hastened people's deaths-in part by failing to redirect
individual's stories in positive ways.

In short, Wilson shows us what works, what doesn't and why.
Fascinating, groundbreaking and practical, Redirect demonstrates
the remarkable effect small changes can have on the ways we
see ourselves and the world around us, and how we can use
these perspectives on a daily basis. In the words of social psych
ologist David G Myers, "With wit and wisdom, Wilson shows
us how to spare ourselves worthless (or worse) interventions,
think smarter, and live well."

Spectacular Praise for Redirect
"Redirect reveals the hidden meanings we assume in our
everyday lives, how these meanings shape our behavior, and
how we can change our assumptions and the world.
Extraordinary."
- Gregory Walton, PhD, Department of Psychology,
Stanford University.

Our thoughts on Redirect
I learned many positive things from this book that I'll
be using to change my life and the way I think for the
better. This book is a keeper, thanks Timothy D. Wilson!

Wednesday: Leftovers

Thursday: Slow Cooker Hamburger Soup, Garlic Bread & Salad
[really wanted to try this one by Feisty, Frual & Fabulous!]

mushrooms [I want to try out 1 day out of the week for vegetarian
